In response to recent reports that U.S. police departments have been briefed on potential threats from UFOs (now referred to as Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, or UAPs) by the Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA), members of the Urantia Corps for Spiritual Progress (UCSP) have expressed their strong disagreement with this stance. According to UCSP, the idea that extraterrestrial visitors present a “clear and present danger” is not only unfounded but also contrary to the teachings of “The Urantia Book”.

Rebecca Bynum, founder of UCSP, stated, “For years, UFO researchers have struggled to have their work recognized by government agencies like the Pentagon. As a result, some have resorted to framing UFOs as a national security threat. But if these extraterrestrials intended to harm, they would have done so long ago. They are not here to conquer or enslave us. According to *The Urantia Book*, these beings are God-knowing and deeply spiritual.”

UCSP co-founder Julia Raffety expanded on this idea, noting that “The Urantia Book” speaks of countless inhabited worlds within the vast universes, many of which are organized under a divine, cosmic structure. “These beings are part of a grand, universal design. They’ve been gently introducing us to the concept of extraterrestrial life for some time, so when formal contact happens, it won’t result in panic like the infamous 1938 broadcast of “War of the Worlds”.”

The Urantia Book, which was introduced nearly a century ago, offers humanity profound insights into the cosmos and the beings that inhabit it. UCSP co-founder Cheryl Phillips emphasized, “The book reveals a universe teeming with spiritual and material beings who have always watched over Earth. We are far from alone.”

Marti Garlow Leib, another co-founder of UCSP, pointed out that Earth, according to *The Urantia Book*, is a world with a unique history of spiritual conflict. “While our planet has endured struggles, we believe we are on the brink of receiving help, not harm. This world holds special significance in the universe, as it was the site of Michael’s (Jesus Christ’s) final bestowal.”

UCSP co-founder Tia Thompson echoed this sentiment, encouraging transparency and open communication on UFOs and UAPs. “We live in a universe filled with loving, benevolent beings. If only influential organizations like the MCCA understood that there is no need for fear. With knowledge and awareness, we can look forward to our first formal contact.”

Dorenda Morse, a co-founder of UCSP, concluded, “The real threats to our civilization are far closer to home. These extraterrestrial visitors are not only more advanced technologically but also spiritually. Their presence is not something to fear but to welcome.”
