Pasadena, CA–(PinionNewswire.com)–

This is not a letter I ever anticipated writing—nor is this invitation extended without careful thought. But after many years of earnest attempts to connect with both of you on issues that I believe are vital to our nation’s well-being, I feel moved to reach out publicly and in good faith.

My name is Dr. Ira E. Williams. I am a retired United States Air Force Major and former Squadron Commander, activated during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I’m also a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and anesthesiologist, and the author of six books—five focused on the ongoing challenges in America’s healthcare delivery system, and one centered on Christian truth and values.

I write this letter not from a place of conflict, but from a deep concern for the future of our country—particularly in areas where meaningful reform is both urgently needed and realistically achievable. With sincere respect for your service and the principles you have both publicly championed, I would like to invite you to join me in a public dialogue. This would not be a political debate in the traditional sense, but rather a thoughtful, respectful conversation grounded in shared values—faith, truth, accountability, and a genuine desire to serve others.

Your 2018 book, Unified, offered a compelling vision of reconciliation, humility, and Christian brotherhood. I was heartened by its message and the moral conviction it conveyed. And yet, having spent more than a decade trying to contribute insights from my professional and personal journey—insights I believe could make a meaningful difference—I’ve found it difficult to reconcile the spirit of that message with the silence I’ve encountered.

For over 14 years, I’ve sought to share my perspective with Congressman Gowdy. And for 12 years, I’ve reached out to Senator Scott with proposals to address the very real problems within our healthcare system. These efforts have never been politically motivated. Rather, they’ve stemmed from a desire to offer solutions born out of experience—from both my time in the military and my long career in healthcare. In March 2020, I met with top officials at CMS, including the Chief of Medical Staff, to present actionable proposals. I’m still waiting to hear back.

I’ve compiled years of research, case studies, and practical approaches to the problems we face in healthcare. This work reflects a lifetime of service and a continuing commitment to making a difference. I truly believe that when people of good will come together with open minds, rooted in shared principles, real progress is possible. That’s why I extend this invitation—not to prove a point, but to explore how our values can guide us toward solutions that benefit those we all serve.

I offer this invitation with respect and hope, trusting that the leadership you’ve shown in your careers will extend to this opportunity for public conversation. Let us reflect together on how we can bridge the gap between ideals and action—and how we can better embody the principles we each hold dear. Thank you for your time, your service, and your consideration. I look forward to the possibility of dialogue.
